Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Split Image upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
One Hill and Matt Machine were slow to begin.
Shima Bar, Mitcharlie Mia and Kwazii collided on the first turn checking Kwazii and Eren Bale. Shima Bar and Mitcharlie Mia collided approaching the second turn severely checking Mitcharlie Mia and Kwazii, Kwazii lost ground as a result. Mitcharlie Mia checked off Kwazii approaching the home turn. Shima Bar veered in and marred Split Image approaching the home turn and again on the home turn, Shima Bar was checked as a result.
Shima Bar was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a spike wound and left wrist sprain, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Split Image was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right quadriceps injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Mitcharlie Mia was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left bicep, right back muscle and left hock spike wound, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mrs A Dailly, the trainer of the greyhound Shima Bar, and Mr T Dailly regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Shima Bar with marring. Mrs Dailly pleaded not guilty to the charge, Shima Bar was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a )before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. T. Brett, the trainer of Split Image regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the home turn.
Note: Greyhound 'Shima Bar' - RADB Appeal conducted 15/11/16. Appeal allowed. Penalties imposed pursuant to GAR 69(1) and GAR 69 (2) (a) lifted.
