Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Blake the handler of Unconventional regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Unconventional last raced on 22nd of May 2016. Mr. Blake stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell.
A pre-race sample was taken from Unconventional.
Regal Bulldog was quick to begin. Unconventional and Spazzy Blue were slow to begin. Unconventional and King Billy Bolt collided soon after the start checking Unconventional. Just Wing It, Unconventional and Fashion Boots collided approaching the first turn checking Fashion Boots. Regal Bulldog and Bronelly Duke collided on the first turn severely checking Regal Bulldog which faltered and tailed off. Just Wing It, Unconventional and King Billy Bolt collided on the first turn checking King Billy Bolt and causing Spazzy Blue and Fashion Boots to race wide. Just Wing It and Unconventional collided approaching the home turn checking Just Wing It.
Regal Bulldog was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right hock, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
