Uberto was slow to begin. Nevada Triangle and Blown Away collided soon after the start, checking Blown Away. Tilly's Bear checked off Arcup Archer approaching the first turn. Arcup Archer and Nevada Triangle collided approaching the first turn, checking Nevada Triangle. Arcup Archer and Suspicious Pete collided on the first turn, severely checking Arcup Archer, Blown Away and Uberto. Uberto eased in the home straight.
Arcup Archer was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left thigh and left saddle. A three day stand down period was imposed.
Blown Away was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the saddle. A three day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr C Colaiacovo, the trainer of the greyhound Uberto regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Uberto was vetted and revetted following event three. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the upper back, left shoulder, left medial thigh and right fibula, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Uberto with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr A Colaiacovo pleaded guilty to the charge, Uberto was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
