Steward's Report
Mystic Twist was a late scratching at 6.16pm due to weight variation (GAR39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mark Cauchi was fined the sum of $100.
Sally Gardens and Why Not Wayne collided approaching the first turn and again in the front straight. Tribal Faith checked off Mepunga Tiara approaching the third turn. Tribal Faith raced wide in the back straight. Mepunga Tiara and Why Not Wayne collided approaching the home turn.
Why Not Wayne was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards queried Mr G Carter, trainer of the greyhound Why Not Wayne which performed below market expectations. Mr. Carter stated that he had been unable to work the greyhound as he usually would due to a minor injury to the the hind leg, sustained after the greyhounds last race. Mr Carter further stated that in his opinion the greyhound would benefit from the run. Stewards noted the comments of Mr Carter.
