Steward's Report

Lord Kitchner and Our Shiraz were quick to begin. Podium Finish and Major Crush collided approaching the first turn. Major Crush, Alpha Ares and Molly Michelle collided approaching the first turn. Billy Beergarden checked off Podium Finish on the first turn and collided with Major Crush. Podium Finish eased approaching the second turn. Billy Beergarden eased approaching the second turn. Podium Finish and Alpha Ares collided approaching the second turn. Billy Beergarden and Major Crush collided approaching the second turn. Major Crush checked off Podium Finish approaching the home turn. 

Podium Finish was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the left monkey muscle and left quadriceps, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. 

Billy Beergarden was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right monkey muscle and right quadriceps, a 5 day stand down periiod was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Harrowfield, the trainer of the greyhound Billy Beergarden regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second turn.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Billy Beergarden with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Harrowfield pleaded guilty to the charge, Billy Beergarden was found guilty and suspended for 12 months (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(c), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Thomson, the trainer of the greyhound Podium Finish regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Podium Finish with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Thomson pleaded not guilty to the charge, Podium Finish was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
