Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Penalty Bale.
Mahlo Blackhawk was quick to begin.
Flat Twin, Cozzi, Shakin' Leo and Nukstar collided soon after the start checking Cozzi and Shakin' Leo. Superior Jethro and Mahlo Blackhawk collided on the first turn checking Mahlo Blackhawk. Flat Twin and Mahlo Blackhawk collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds. Penalty Bale and Mahlo Blackhawk collided in home straight checking Penalty Bale and Nukstar. Penalty Bale checked off Mahlo Blackhawk in the home straight. Penalty Bale cramped in the home straight and tailed off as a result.
Penalty Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained cramping to both hindlegs, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Shillington, the handler of the greyhound Penalty Bale. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
