Billy Ray Bunter eased in the home straight and collided with Golden Ferrari. 

Billy Ray Bunter was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Mr Higgins declined the option of having the greyhound re-vetted.

Stewards spoke to Mr J. Higgins, the trainer of the greyhound Billy Ray Bunter regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Billy Ray Bunter with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr Higgins pleaded guilty to the charge, Billy Ray Bunter was found guilty and was suspended  for 28 days (all tracks) and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mimosa checked off Heartbreak Hotel on the first turn. Don's Disaster brushed the running rail approaching the home turn. Heartbreak Hotel and Wicked Tuna collided approaching the home turn checking Wicked Tuna. Don's Disaster and Papa Chippy collided approaching the home turn checking Mimosa and Wicked Tuna and severely checking Heartbreak Hotel which pulled up as a result, and causing Papa Chippy to fall. Ginger Menang and Mimosa collided in the home straight checking both greyhounds.

This race started two minutes late due to Sky Channel committments with Redcliffe harness.

Stewards spoke to Mr J Borg, the trainer of Evie Tron regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Evie Tron last raced on 6 July 2016. Mr Borg stated that Evie Tron was resuming racing following a change of kennel after which time it became seasonal.

Evie Tron checked off Mahogany Saphire in the back straight. Evie Tron and Rack Tap Rack collided approaching the second turn. Rack Tap Rack checked off Solo approaching the home turn. Flat Twin, Cozzi, Shakin' Leo and Nukstar collided soon after the start checking Cozzi and Shakin' Leo. Superior Jethro and Mahlo Blackhawk collided on the first turn checking Mahlo Blackhawk. Flat Twin and Mahlo Blackhawk collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds. Penalty Bale and Mahlo Blackhawk collided in home straight checking Penalty Bale and Nukstar. Penalty Bale checked off Mahlo Blackhawk in the home straight. Penalty Bale cramped in the home straight and tailed off as a result.

Penalty Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained cramping to both hindlegs, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Shillington, the handler of the greyhound Penalty Bale.  Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp), Stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.

Black Hua was a late scratching at 5.53pm on the advice of the Club’s Veterinary Surgeon due to general soreness. A five day stand down period was imposed.
