Steward's Report
Following race 7, this race was rescheduled to 9.44pm due to the track being repaired after heavy rainfall.
Stewards spoke to Ms. A. Lawson, the trainer of Lethal Spider regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Lethal Spider last raced on 17th July 2016. Ms. Lawson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a shoulder injury.
A pre-race sample was taken from Lethal Spider.
Oakmont Blonde was quick to begin. Lethal Spider, Dr. Ripped and Hurricane Aussie were slow to begin.
Dr. Ripped and Dessie Walnut collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Lethal Spider checked off Oakmont Blonde on the first turn severely checking Dessie Walnut and Hurricane Aussie. Lethal Spider checked off Galloping Ashley on the second turn, Lethal Spider and Dr. Ripped collided as a result. Galloping Ashley checked off Two Time approaching the home turn severely checking Swan's Waddle, Galloping Ashley raced wide as a result.
