Stewards spoke to kennel attendant, Mr. D. Keirl after the greyhound Destini Colorado was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process.  Mr. Keirl was reminded him of responsibilities and asked to ensure that all greyhounds are correctly kennelled in future

Southwood Rufus was slow to begin.  Jam Lady and Blue Afro collided soon after the start checking Blue Afro.  Blue Afro contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground as a result.  Destini Colorado, Lil' Tuff Chapta and Winlock Wrighty collided approaching the home turn checking Lil' Tuff Chapta. Southwood Rufus raced wide on the home turn checking Monkey Year.  Jam Lady and Outa Manila collided in the home straight.  Destini Colorado failed to pursue the lure in the home straight and collided with Jam Lady.

Blue Afro was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to its left hind leg and an injury to its right thigh.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Taylor, the handler of the greyhound Destini Colorado regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Destini Colorado was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right pencil muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Destini Colorado with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Taylor pleaded guilty to the charge.  Destini Colorado was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Cordite Alert was slow to begin.  Pretty Sensation was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Winlock Stanley, Grey Gable and Ben's Talon collided approaching the first turn checking Grey Gable.  Cordite Alert, Ben's Talon and Gobbledegook collided approaching the home turn.  Manzeene Magic checked off Campari Lad approaching the home turn.  Pretty Sensation and Ben's Talon collided on the home turn.

Ms. M. Gray, trainer of Lady Camelot declared a new weight of 24.6kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Lady Camelot last raced at 25.9kgs.

Kalani Jac crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Forever Rose, Rapid Lily, Apres Party and Winlock Chloe.  Winlock Chloe, Apres Party and Rapid Lily collided on the first turn checking Rapid Lily and Winlock Chloe.  Winlock Chloe checked off Rapid Lily in the back straight.  Apres Party and Rapid Lily collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight.  Parvati Patil and Forever Rose collided in the home straight.

Winlock Chloe was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left monkey muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Stefanos, trainer of Winlock Chloe regarding the greyhound having it's first start today over 545m. Mr. Stefanos stated that, in his opinion, Winlock Chloe is best suited to race over ground. He added that he had trialled Winlock Chloe on two occassions at Bendigo over 500m and had hand slipped the greyhound at Shepparton over 600m prior to today's event. Stewards noted his comments and took no further action. 

The start of this race was delayed due to the green light failing to activate. The boxes were subsequently tested and the all clear given to proceed.

Merry Magic was slow to begin.  Tiger Rossa and Merry Magic collided soon after the start.  Tiger Rossa checked off Westmead Maggie approaching the first turn.  Merry Magic, Westmead Maggie and Perceptive collided approaching the first turn checking Perceptive, Westmead Maggie and Tiger Rossa.  Podium Express, Beer On Tap, Pitch and Merry Magic collided approaching the home turn checking Beer On Tap and Merry Magic.  Perceptive checked off Beer On Tap approaching the home turn.  Tiger Rossa checked off Merry Magic approaching the home turn.  Beer On Tap checked off Merry Magic approaching the home turn.  Westmead Maggie checked off Beer On Tap entering the home straight.  Podium Express checked off Pitch in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr. T. Blacker, the trainer of Tiger Rossa regarding the difficulty handler, Ms. C. Blacker had in boxing the greyhound Tiger Rossa.  Stewards directed that Tiger Rossa be boxed first in future events.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Dan The Man trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 32.6kgs.  The greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.29.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.5 lengths.  Dan The Man was cleared to race in blinkers.

Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Brennan, the trainer of Due Process regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Due Process last raced on 8th April 2016.  Mr. Brennan stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a torn achillies injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Due Process trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 8, weight 35.4kgs.  The greyhound was placed 1st in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.29.  The greyhound won by a margin of 3.5 lengths.  Due Process was cleared.
