Solitary was slow to begin.  Avatar Ice and Kraken Mazing collided approaching the first turn checking Avatar Ice.  Cosmic Wish and Melrose Drive collided on the first turn.  Avatar Ice and Solitary collided on the home turn.

Avatar Ice was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound suffered from thumps as well as an injury to the left wrist, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Kraken Mazing, the winner of the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr K. Eyles, trainer of Kraken Mazing and reminded him of his responsibilities in regards to the use of mobile phones while handling.

Steward's spoke to Mr M. Auld trainer of the greyhound Total Magic which had not raced since 13 June 2016. Mr Auld stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after recovering from a back muscle injury.

A pre-race sample was taken from Total Magic.

Magic Sorcerer, Simply Lomar and Mouse Lomar were quick to begin.  Curnow was slow to begin.  Total Magic and Mouse Lomar collided approaching the first turn.  Magic Sorcerer galloped on the heels of Simply Lomar on the first turn.  Alice's Entity and Kraken Suzie collided on the first turn.  Curnow and Kraken Suzie collided on the first turn.  Alice's Entity and Curnow collided on the first turn.  Total Magic, Magic Sorcerer and Mouse Lomar raced wide on the home turn.

Total Magic was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Hey Alio Fozzio, Tat Minnie and Ducasse were slow to begin.  Perfect Rider and Lettuce Hold On collided on the first turn.  Perfect Rider galloped on the heels of Gunmetal Angel on the first turn checking Gunmetal Angel.  Gunmetal Angel and Kraken Ridge collided on the home turn.  Hey Alio Fozzio and Lettuce Hold On collided on the home turn.  Hey Alio Fozzio, Lettuce Hold On and Tat Minnie collided in the home straight.

Sarah Swift and Ripple Eff Ex were quick to begin.  Shocking Onyx, Kraken Manager and Infinite Senor were slow to begin.  Bomber Lane and Steady Walker collided soon after the start.  Bomber Lane galloped on the heels of Hard Wicket approaching the first turn.  Kraken Manager checked off Steady Walker on the home turn.  Hard Wicket and Kraken Manager raced wide on the home turn and again in the home straight.

Dyna Omen was a late scratching at 8.51am due to illness (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Ninghan Express was slow to begin.  Sally's Teasure and Sassy Son collided soon after the start checking Sally's Treasure.  Ninghan Express, Patriotic Star and Spring To Wyn collided soon after the start checking Spring To Wyn and Ninghan Express.  Patriotic Star, Sassy Son, Kraken Tobias and Set Point collided approaching the first turn checking Kraken Tobias.  Patriotic Star and Sassy Son collided on the first turn, severely checking Patriotic Star and collided with Kraken Tobias as a result.  Patriotic Star, Sally's Treasure and Kraken Tobias collided approaching the home turn checking Kraken Tobias, severley checking Sally's Treasure which fell.  Spring To Wyn checked off Kraken Tobias in the home straight.

Sally's Treasure was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right pencil muscle and right groin, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr P. Clark, trainer of Set Point and reminded him of his responsibility in regards to boxing his greyhound in a timely manner.

The start of this race was delayed momentarily due to the handler of Brindle Audrey tripping over the greyhound whilst boxing.

Yorgi Blues and Barton Bale were slow to begin.  Radio Silent, Flying Holly and Oriental Lord collided soon after the start checking Flying Holly.  Barton Bale checked off Brindle Audrey approaching the first turn.  Barton Bale, Radio Silent, Oriental Lord and Skate Thin Ice collided approaching the first turn.  Yorgi Blues, Flying Holly and Brindle Audrey collided on the first turn, severely checking Brindle Audrey.  Oriental Lord and Skate Thin Ice collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr J. Formosa, representative of Flying Holly in regards to the suitability of the greyhounds muzzle. In not taking further action Stewards noted that there was an error in communicating to the handler what gear the greyhound should race with.

Stewards spoke to Trainer,  Ms E. Bowles, regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound, Steel Fury.  Stewards directed that Steel Fury be boxed first in future events.
