Steward's Report
Jeremiah Jack was slow to begin. Mahaya and Jeremiah Jack collided soon after the start. Dyna Dalma, Mahaya and Jeremiah Jack collided soon after the start. Celestial Folk, Dyna Dalma and Mahaya collided on the first turn, severely checking Mahaya, Mepunga Focus and Jeremiah Jack, causing Mepunga Focus and Jeremiah Jack to race wide as a result. Celestial Folk, Destini Surfer and Dewana Dimie collided approaching the home turn, checking Destini Surfer. Celestial Folk checked off Dewana Dimie approaching the home turn. Mahaya and Destini Surfer collided on the home turn. Lopsided tired in the home straight and lost ground.
Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Sands, trainer of Lopsided regarding the greyhounds performance in the concluding stages of the event. Mr. Sands stated that he expected the greyhound to lead for the majority of the event and thought he would be able to run out the 660 metre distance. He agreed that the greyhound was better suited to the 520 metre after tonight's race and would enter the greyhound back at this distance in future.
A sample was taken from Celestial Folk - the winner of the event.
Lopsided was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Jeremiah Jack was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left dew claw, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
