Steward's Report

Oshkosh Gypsy and Full Of Hope collided soon after the start. Oiranye Bale and Cruisy's Lil collided soon after the start checking Oiranye Bale. Cosmic Guru checked off Papa Chippy on the first turn. Bombora Cyclone and Cosmic Guru collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Newcastle Ranger checked off Papa Chippy approaching the home turn. Bombora Cyclone crossed to the outside entering the home straight checking Cruisy's Lil and Full Of Hope. Oiranye Bale eased in the home straight and approaching the winning post.

Oiranye Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Mr J Collins handler of the greyhound Oiranye Bale declined to have the greyhound re-vetted.

Stewards spoke to Mr J Collins, the handler of the greyhound Oiranye Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Oiranye Bale with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr J Collins pleaded guilty, Oiranye Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
