Steward's Report

Call Me Rascal was slow to begin.

Deadly Mary, Rover Bale and Commander collided soon after the start checking Rover Bale. Call Me Rascal contacted the running rail approaching the first turn and lost ground as a result. Rover Bale and Commander collided on the first turn checking Rover Bale, Commander and Blue Kade. Commander eased approaching the home turn severely checking Falzion Bale. Call Me Rascal checked off Falzion Bale on the home turn causing Call Me Rascal to race wide. Rover Bale veered in and marred Da Bont in the home straight. 

Commander was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right long head triceps, a 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr A. Mooney the trainer of the greyhound Commander regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Commander with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Mooney pleaded guilty to the charge, Commander was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Rover Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr J Collins the handler, of the greyhound Rover Bale regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Rover Bale with marring. Mr J Collins pleaded guilty to the charge, Rover Bale was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Call Me Rascal was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
