Steward's Report

A pre race sample was taken from Dynamic Couldron.

Lektra Elusive, Cudgee Destroyer and Ella Rhode were slow to begin. Dynamic Couldron, Chief Mingo, Tammy Baxter and Ella Rhode collided on the first turn, checking Cudgee Destroyer, and severely checking Lemon Chicken, Ella Rhode fell as a result. Dynamic Couldron veered out and marred the running of Chief Mingo approaching the home turn, severely checking Chief Mingo. Cudgee Destroyer and Tammy Baxter collided on the home turn. Dynamic Couldron and Chief Mingo collided entering the home straight. Tammy Baxter checked off Cudgee Destroyer in the home straight and crossed to the rail. 

Ella Rhode was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the right back leg. No stand down period was imposed

Lektra Elusive was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the left ear, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. 

Dynamic Couldron was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right pencil and right chest muscle, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. N. Wynd, the trainer of the greyhound Dynamic Couldron regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Dynamic Couldron with marring. Mr. Wynd pleaded guilty to the charge, Dynamic Couldron was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards spoke to Parade Steward Mr. G. McKinnie, catcher Mrs. V. McDonald (Lektra Elusive) and catcher/trainer Ms. V. Giles (Chief Mingo) regarding an incident in the catching pen following the event, where Lektra Elusive suffered a laceration to the ear. After taking evidence from all parties Stewards could not be fully satisfied that Chief Mingo was fully reponsible  therefore no action was taken.
