A pre-race sample was taken from Hollywood Model upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Auburn Gal and Hollywood Model were quick to begin. Bubba's Lad was slow to begin. Bubba's Lad and Shifty Joshua collided approaching the first turn, severely checking Bubba's Lad. Fashion Boots and Superior Bobby collided on the first turn, checking Superior Bobby. Snaphook Sticka and Auburn Gal collided on the first turn, checking Auburn Gal and Fashion Boots, and severely checking Snaphook Sticka. Fashion Boots and Shifty Joshua collided approaching the home turn, checking Shifty Joshua.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Jensen regarding the direction that the greyhound Superior Bobby be boxed first. Acting under GAR 52(2) Stewards directed that this box first be removed.
