Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Emm Kaes Joker upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
A pre-race sample was taken from Dunder.
Flying Cola and Emm Kaes Joker were slow to begin. Flying Cola and Candyo collided approaching the first turn. Johnny Scull checked off Dunder approaching the home turn. Johnny Scull and Special Member collided approaching the home turn. Dunder and Zulu Zoe collided entering the home straight. Special Member eased in the home straight and checked Emm Kaes Joker as a result.
Special Member was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Trainer, Mr. D. Hill declined a re-vet.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Hill, the trainer of the greyhound Special Member regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1), stewards charged Special Member with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Hill pleaded not guilty to the charge. Special Member was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
