Steward's Report
Smashing Turbo was quick to begin.
Our Selection crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Happy Arizona, Sheza Winslow and Elle Jack and severely checking Unruly Rebel. Elle Jack checked off Sheza Winslow approaching the first turn. Happy Arizona and Four Dreams collided approaching the first turn checking Four Dreams. Smashing Turbo contacted the running rail on the first turn and collided with Yap Yap Galo checking both greyhounds. Unruly Rebel raced wide in the home straight. Smashing Turbo and Our Selection collided approaching the winning post.
Smashing Turbo was vetted following the event and revetted following race 3. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to and issued a warning to Trainer M. Doherty, the trainer of Smashing Turbo regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.
