Miracle Maggie was slow to begin.  Roll 'Em Dainty crossed to the rail soon after the start checking Major Spills, Stressful and Just A Wish.  Altona Girl and Roll 'Em Dainty collided approaching the first turn checking Roll 'Em Dainty.  Miracle Maggie checked off Stressful approaching the home turn.  Stressful galloped on the heels of Gelwix on the home turn.  Altona Girl eased in the home straight.  Altona Girl and Major Spills collided in the home straight severely checking both greyhounds.

Altona Girl was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Enders, the trainer of the greyhound Altona Girl regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Altona Girl with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr. Enders pleaded guilty to the charge.  Altona Girl was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Magic Max and Spa Primrose were slow to begin.  Let Rip Andy was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Black Florence and Flyin' Les Fergi collided soon after the start.  Spa Primrose checked off Blonde Boucheau on the first turn.  Black Florence, Flyin' Les Fergi, Hotlips Matilda and Blonde Boucheau collided on the first turn checking Black Florence and Flyin' Les Fergi.  Spa Primrose faltered in the back straight and tailed off as a result.  Magic Max and Black Florence collided approaching the home turn checking Magic Max and Let Rip Andy.

Spa Primrose was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left thigh.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Spa Peter and Bekim Nikita collided soon after the start checking Spa Peter.  Proven Crown and Winnellie collided approaching the first turn.  Spooked and Winnellie collided approaching the first turn.  Proven Crown checked off Spooked on the first turn.  Betts Goes Bang, Spooked, Winnellie and Proven Crown collided on the first turn checking Bekim Nikita and severely checking Spooked and Winnellie.  Spa Peter raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.  Proven Crown raced wide in the home straight.
