Stewards spoke to P. Lenehan, trainer of the greyhound Lektra Sunset as it had not raced since 5 May 2015. Mr Lenehan stated that the greyhound had recovered from a right metatarsal injury.
Salesman was slow to begin. Xylem Hay was quick to begin. Fez Bale and Tilly's Bear collided soon after the start. Tear Away Lucy and Lektra Sunset collided approaching the first turn. Tear Away Lucy, Lektra Sunset and Fez Bale collided on the first turn, checking Lektra Sunset, Tear Away Lucy and Salesman. Tear Away Lucy galloped on the heels of Lektra Sunset approaching the home turn. Fez Bale contacted the running rail approaching the home turn. Tizza Rebel checked off Xylem Hay on the home turn. Tear Away Lucy and Lektra Sunset collided in the home straight, checking both greyhounds.
