Steward's Report

Sir Murray was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Thunder Chief and Slipaway Jenifer collided soon after the start checking Slipaway Jenifer.  Flash Boof, Thunder Chief, Nuggy Burger, Crymelon Sunrise, Mr. Stealer and Class Aire collided on the first turn checking Flash Boof and Sir Murray and severely checking Thunder Chief, Nuggy Burger, Crymelon Sunrise and Mr. Stealer.  Nuggy Burger, Crymelon Sunrise and Sir Murray collided on the second turn checking Sir Murray.  Sir Murray raced wide on the home turn.

Sir Murray was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right hock.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Z. Aleksov regarding the improved performance of Thunder Chief.  Mr. Aleksov stated that the greyhound was down in class and back in distance and added that the greyhound did all his early education at the track and has a good win loss record when competing at Ballarat.  Stewards noted Mr. Aleksov's explaination and directed that a sample be taken.
