Steward's Report
This event was hand started.
A pre-race sample was taken from Flash Riot upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.
Bryden Lady was slow to begin. Caco Potion and Big Bold Boomer collided soon after the start. Minnesota, Bryden Lady, Caco Potion and Big Bold Boomer collided approaching the first turn checking Caco Potion and Big Bold Boomer. Har and Minnesota collided on the first turn. Minnesota and Bryden lady collided entering the back straight checking Bryden Lady. Flash Riot and Sports Knight collided approaching the second turn. Kinbrae Millie galloped on the heels of Flash Riot on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Kinbrae Millie veered out and marred the running of Flash Riot in the home straight. Flash Riot and Sports Knight collided approaching the winning post. Har, Bryden Lady and Kinbrae Millie collided approaching the winning post.
Kinbrae Millie was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right monkey muscle. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Treherne, the trainer of the greyhound Kinbrae Millie regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Kinbrae Millie with marring. Mr. Treherne pleaded guilty to the charge, Kinbrae Millie was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
