Steward's Report
Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. Worsfold, the trainer of Alvarsson regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Alvarsson last raced on 18th March 2016 and is returning to race after a right hock injury and a change of trainer/owner.
A pre race sample was taken from Alvarsson.
Alvarsson, Tangoette and Parto's Pin were slow to begin. Suntory Snow and Blue Power collided soon after the start. Glib Lightning and Buzman Benz collided at the 300 metre mark. Parto's Pin crossed to the rail at the 300 metre mark. Suntory Snow and Blue Power collided several times from the 250 metre mark to the 200 metre mark severely checking both greyhounds and causing Blue Power to stumble, severely checking Alvarsson; Suntory Snow pulled up and Alvarsson and Blue Power tailed off as a result. Double Deception and Tangoette collided at the 100 metre mark.
Alvarsson was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards issued a warning to Mrs. J. Worsfold, the trainer of Alvarsson regarding the greyhound's racing manners at the 200 metre mark. In coming to this decision, Stewards deemed that the injury and reaction from Suntory Snow was sufficient to disrupt the running of Alvarsson.
Suntory Snow was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured right scapula. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Blue Power was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
