A pre race sample was taken from Magnificent Pete.
Mandela Sun, Taxi and Magnificent Pete collided soon after the start checking Mandela Sun and Taxi. Taxi crossed to the outside at the 250 metre mark. Two Seasons and Half Moon Rising collided at the 200 metre mark checking Half Moon Rising.
Half Moon Rising was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr. D. Baker, the trainer of Half Moon Rising regarding the greyhound's racing manners at the 200 metre mark.
