Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Crazy Hawke.
Ava's Angel and Avatar Helga collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Daintree Teacake, Maximum Strike and Suitress collided soon after the start checking Maximum Strike. Ava's Angel and Avatar Helga collided approaching the home turn checking Avatar Helga. Fancy Bounce and Maximum Strike collided approaching the home turn checking Maximum Strike. Ava's Angel and Daintree Teacake collided in the home straight.
Meeting Comments:
Stewards today resumed an inquiry from Friday 26 August 2016 into the greyhounds Eddie Yap and Lektra Khan not having catchers after the running of Race 7. After obtaining further evidence from licensed attendants Mr Billy Ruff, Mr PJ Cullie and Mr R Bromley (who also acted as an adult observer for Mr Ruff and Mr Cullie, who are both minors) and club staff member Mr M Cole, Stewards were satisfied that Mr Ruff had failed to provide a catcher for only one greyhound in the race.
As a consequence, Stewards issued a warning to Mr Ruff, pursuant to GAR 48.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR77A) :- Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Ellis , the trainer of Cape Shiraz regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Cape Shiraz last raced on 2/10/15. Mr. Ellis stated that the greyhound has had a right stopper injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A Cape Shiraz trialled over the 425mts from box 1, weight 32.4kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.51, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3L. Cape Shiraz was cleared.
Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR77A) :- Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Ellis , the handler of Kitty Hawke regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Kitty Hawke last raced on 1/2/16. Mr. Ellis stated that the greyhound had been in season. Pursuant to GAR 77A Cape Shiraz trialled over the 425mts from box 3, weight 26.8kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 24.51, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 16L. Kitty Hawke was cleared.
