Know Danger and Shanlyn Patch were slow to begin.
Yadi, Mepunga Treasure, Virginia Rose, Ballerino and Filius Flitwick collided approaching the first turn checking Mepunga Treasure, Rockabilly King, severely checking Virginia Rose, Shanly Patch and Filius Flitwick with Shanlyn Patch and Filius Flitwick racing wide as a result and causing Ballerino to fall. Rockabilly King and Shanlyn Patch collided on the home turn. Mepunga Treasure and Rockabilly Patch collided in the home straight checking Rockabilly King.
Ballerino was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustaind injured left quadriceps and lacerated left hind, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
