As a pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Iona Blue, a post race sample was subsequently taken.
Mabuti Girl was quick to begin. Pequeno Rayo and Shahadollar were slow to begin. Jiggly Legs and Iona Blue collided soon after the start. Jiggly Legs checked off Iona Blue approaching the first turn, checking Shahadollar. Iona Blue and Maximum Shera collided approaching the first turn, severely checking Maximum Shera, which checked Shahadollar as a result. Pequeno Rayo and Jiggly Legs collided approaching the home turn, severely checking Pequeno Rayo. Jiggly Legs checked off Iona Blue approaching the home turn. Iona Blue and Mabuti Girl collided on the home turn. Jiggly Legs and Got Held Up collided entering the home straight. Shahadollar and Maximum Shera collided in the home straight. Got Held Up, Iona Blue and Mabuti Girl collided in the home straight.
Pequeno Rayo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both monkey muscles and the right quadriceps, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
