Da Game was a late scratching at 11:09am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr. T. Jacques was fined the sum of $100.
J. Hardy, trainer of Sheoak Red Man redeclared a new weight of 31.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Sheoak Red Man last raced at 30.1kg. Stewards spoke to Mr. Hardy regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced (8.3.15). Mr. Hardy stated that the greyhound was new to his kennel and recovering from injury.
Shake 'Em Up was slow to begin. Still Bluffing, My Names Schultz and Sheoak Red Man collided several times soon after the start checking My Names Schultz and Sheoak Red Man. Classy Arrow and Casey's Choice collided soon after the start checking Casey's Choice which raced wide as a result. Still Bluffing and Shake 'Em Up collided on the first turn checking Shake 'Em Up and severely checking Still Bluffing and Sheoak Red Man; Sheoak Red Man fell as a result. Still Bluffing raced wide in the home straight. My Names Schultz and Shake 'Em Up collided approaching the winning post.
Still Bluffing was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right thigh. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Sheoak Red Man was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
