Due to FastTrack issues kennels closed approximately 7 minutes late. 

Allen Membo was a late scratching at 8:43AM due to illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted. 

The start of this race was delayed one and a half minutes due to the running of an interstate harness race. 

Idaho Bale and Hello Bekim were quick to begin. Miss Nicastro was slow to begin. Miracle checked off Polijuice Potion soon after the start. Idaho Bale and Polijuice Potion collided on the first turn. Leroy Tron checked off Miracle on the first turn. Polijuice Potion, Idaho Bale and Miracle collided on the second turn, checking Idaho Bale and Polijuice Potion.

Miss Nicastro was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Bonaccurso, the trainer of the greyhound Miss Nicastro.  Stewards deemed the performance of Miss Nicastro unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Miss Nicastro must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards also questioned Mr. Bonaccurso with regard to the increase of distance Miss Nicastro raced over in todays event. Miss Nicastro has previously raced over 311m. Mr Bonaccurso stated that the greyhound had trialled over 515m at Sandown before today's race and felt, in his opinion, Miss Nicastro would be competitive. He added that he was disappointed with the greyhound's performance today. 

Grace Monica, Zana Bale, Nussin Much and Misty Sannette were slow to begin. Nussin Much and Misty Sannette collided soon after the start. Quaint Bale, Grace Monica, Honeycomb Smooth and Marciarno Miss collided on the first turn, checking Honeycomb Smooth and severely checking Marciarno Miss, Zana Bale and Misty Sannette, causing Zana Bale to fall. Marciarno Miss and Misty Sannette collided on the third turn, checking Misty Sannette. Nussin Much checked off Uno Sparti on the home turn. 

Marciarno Miss was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the inside of the left wrist, no stand down period was imposed. 

Zana Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

Jenkins Bale and Kingston Diesel were slow to begin. Duck Hole Flyer, Oops, Jenkins Bale and Lady Torah collided soon after the start, checking Jenkins Bale and Lady Torah. Oops and Duck Hole Flyer collided approaching the first turn. Oops checked off Hashtag Jordan approaching the first turn. Oops and Duck Hold Flyer collided on the first turn, checking Oops and severely checking Duck Hole Flyer. Jenkins Bale galloped on Thursday Sip on the third turn, checking Thursday Sip, Kingston Regal, Hashtag Jordan and Oops, and severely checking Dashing Diesel; causing Dashing Diesel to fall as a result. Oops and Kingston Regal collided approaching the home turn.

Andy Jay was slow to begin. Tangam Flash and Proven Latte collided soon after the start. Tycoon Diamond and Daintree Puzzle collided soon after the start. Proven Latte and Mi Diablo collided approaching the first turn. Young Henry, Mi Diablo, Tycoon Diamond and Daintree Puzzle collided on the first turn, checking Mi Diablo and Daintree Puzzle. Tangam Flash checked off Mi Diablo on the first turn, checking Proven Latte and Andy Jay. Who Dey checked off Young Henry entering the front straight. Proven Latte raced wide on the second turn. Who Dey checked off Tangam Flash on the third turn. Andy Jay checked off Mi Diablo on the third turn. Mi Diablo checked off Who Dey entering the back straight, checking Andy Jay and Proven Latte. Tangam Flash and Daintree Puzzle collided on the fourth turn. Tangam Flash checked off Young Henry approaching the home turn. 

Fireman Johnny, Dewana Hitman and Zigstar were slow to begin. New Job Jimmy and Fireman Johnny collided approaching the first turn. Dewana Hitman and Willowvale Black collided on the first turn, checking Iyliss Bale. Zigstar raced wide on the first turn. Fireman Johnny, Willowvale Black and Wobbler collided entering the back straight, checking Willowvale Black and Wobbler. Fireman Johnny and Iyliss Bale collided in the back straight. Fireman Johnny and Iyliss Bale collided entering the home straight. Zigstar and Iyliss Bale collided in the home straight.

Deli Allen, Pride Of Egypt and Cosmic Vee Bee were slow to begin. Galloping Rocky, Deli Allen, Dewana Lass and Arejay Smokey collided on the first turn, checking Deli Allen, Dewana Lass and Arejay Smokey; causing Dewana Lass to race wide. Galloping Rocky and Cosmic Vee Bee collided in the front straight; causing Cosmic Vee Bee to race wide. Headline galloped on the heels of Razldazl Pacino on the fourth turn, checking Headline. Headline checked off Razldazl Pacino entering the home straight, checking Cosmic Vee Bee. 

Impact Bale and Hanging In There were slow to begin. Future Past and Sammy The Foss collided soon after the start. Future Past and Sammy The Foss collided on the first turn, checking Sammy The Foss and Impact Bale. Future Past and Hanging In There collided on the second turn, checking Hanging In There.

Hanging In There was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Camilleri, the handler of Hanging In There, which performed below market expectations. Mr. Camilleri stated that Hanging In There has lost early speed since returning from injury and is a greyhound which is best suited when racing on pace.  Stewards noted his explanation and took no further action. 

Humming Birdhill was quick to begin. Cornelius Fudge, Heston Lodge, Unsub Andy and Cosmic Owl were slow to begin. Penance Allen and Samus Allen collided soon after the start. Heston Lodge and Unsub Andy collided soon after the start. Cornelius Fudge and Heston Lodge collided entering the back straight, checking Cornelius Fudge, which collided with Unsub Andy. Unsub Andy galloped on the heels of Cornelius Fudge in the back straight, checking both greyhounds. Cornelius Fudge and Samus Allen collided entering the home straight, checking Samus Allen and Cosmic Owl. 

Samus Allen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness to the left stopper bone, a ten day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. B. Shillington, the handler Samus Allen, with regard to the increase in distance Samus Allen ran over in today's event.  Mr. Shillington stated the Samus Allen has run over shorter distances recently to gain fitness and has previously raced at Sandown over 515m. He added that he was unaware if Samus Allen had trialled over a similar distance prior to racing today.  Stewards noted his explanation and took no further action. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Big Bang Marjen. 

Billy Bubba and Big Bang Marjen were quick to begin. Sir Reuben was slow to begin. Billy Bubba and Panda Bale collided on the first turn, checking Billy Bubba and Sir Reuben.

A pre-race sample was taken from Scarlett Billy. 

Pretty Bale was quick to begin. Scarlett Billy, Under Taker and Big Barking Bert were slow to begin. Under Taker galloped on the heels of Sugar Lips on the third turn, checking both greyhounds.

Lady Silver, Kick Like Mick, Mewstone Rocket and Bold Desert were slow to begin. Our Miss Nitro and Spirited Revenge collided on the first turn. Lady Silver and Bold Desert collided on the first turn. Zelemar Zippa and Kick Like Mick collided on the first turn, checking both greyhounds.

Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Greenough, the handler of Sketchy with regards to the length of time the greyhound has had between racing. Sketchy last raced on 18 Janurary 2015. Mr. Greenough stated that Sketchy is resuming to racing after being on season. 

Cosmic Jewel was quick to begin. Fear Indigo was slow to begin. Twist Of Thunder crossed to the rail soon after the start, checking Cosmic Goldie, Seaside Daisy and Last Line. Fear Indigo and Last Line collided on the first turn, checking Fear Indigo. Cosmic Goldie and Twist Of Thunder collided on the first turn, checking Cosmic Goldie and Last Line. Seaside Daisy galloped on the heels of Twist Of Thunder on the second turn, checking both greyhounds. Cosmic Goldie and Fear Indigo collided on the home turn. 

Meeting comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results - Vasile Boy trialled over the 515m from box 6, weight 31.7kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of four. The time of the trial was 29.60, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 14 lengths. Vasile Boy was Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Amaroo Crack It trialled over the 515m from box 3, weight 33.4kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of four. The time of the trial was 29.60, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 13.25 lengths. Amaroo Crack It was Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Filius Flitwick trialled over the 515m from box 1, weight 32.7kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of four. The time of the trial was 29.60, the greyhound won by a margin of 8.75 lengths. Filius Flitwick was Cleared. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - Peggie trialled over the 515m from box 8, weight 27.1kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of four. The time of the trial was 29.60, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8.75 lengths. Peggie was Cleared.
