Larah's Wish and Blue Noise were slow to begin.
Connemara Flame crossed to the outside soon after the start checking Wally Enlim. Wally Enlim checked off Blue Noise approaching the first turn. Bet Bet Tahlia checked off Our's And approaching the first turn checking Prowling Lad. Prowling Lad, Connemara Flame, Wally Enlim and Blue Noise collided on the first turn checking Wally Enlim and Blue Noise. Prowling Lad and Blue Noise collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Wally Enlim and Blue Noise collided in the home straight.
Larah's Wish which performed below market expectations was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both triceps and the left back muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. C. Schembri regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Larah's Wish. Stewards directed that Larah's Wish be boxed first in future events.
