Hurunui Hitman was a late scratching at 11:49AM due to injury.
Fast Summer, Blue Lavros and Searle Bale collided soon after the start. Fast Summer galloped on the heels of Blue Lavros approaching the first turn checking Fast Summer. Greg Bale crossed to the rail in the home straight severely checking Fast Summer which fell as a result. Allen Dion raced wide in the home straight.
Fast Summer was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the left stifle. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Blue Lavros was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained spike wounds to the left hind. No stand down period was imposed.
