Stewards spoke to S Waycott, trainer of Cobra Commander regarding the length of time since the greyhounds last race (5 March 2015). Mr Waycott advised the stewards that the greyhound had been recovering from several injuries.
Stewards spoke to S Douglass, representative of Bally Zoro regarding the length of time since the greyhounds last race (21 March 2015). Ms Douglass advised the stewards that the greyhound is a new addition to the kennels.
Midnight Outlaw was slow to begin. Bally Zoro, Shanlyn Jed and Quint Bale collided soon after the start. Bally Zoro checked off Jammie Dodger approaching the first turn. Fizzy Bale and Solitary Tear collided on the first turn, checking Fizzy Bale. Bally Zoro and Midnight Outlaw collided approaching the home turn. Cobra Commander and Shanlyn Jed collided on the home turn. Shanlyn Jed raced wide in the home straight. Jammie Dodger and Solitary Tear collided approaching the winning post.
