A. Taylor, trainer of Montane, redeclared a new weight of 32.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Montane last raced at 31.2kg.
Aston Payton was very slow to begin (3 lengths). Montane, Arnold's Entity and Cool Lois collided approaching the first turn. Riverdale Maggie and Montane collided on the first turn checking Montane and Arnold's Entity. Hashtag Hutch and Riverdale Maggie collided on the first turn checking Riverdale Maggie. Montane contacted the running rail approaching the home turn checking Aston Payton and severely checking Montane and Arnold's Entity; Arnold's Entity fell as a result.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. G. Kiernan regarding her difficulty in boxing the greyhound Hashtag Hutch. Stewards directed that Hashtag Hutch be boxed first in future events.
Montane was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
