Acola Ebony was quick to begin. It's A Steal and Palm Tee were slow to begin. Maverick Blondie, Alouette Magic and Ryan Brook collided on the first turn. It's A Steal checked off Ryan Brook on the first turn. Waynewright checked off Acola Ebony on the first turn. Alouette Magic and Ryan Brook collided approaching the second turn. Alouette Magic checked off Acola Ebony on the second turn. Acola Ebony checked off Palm Tee approaching the home turn. It's A Steal and Ryan Brook collided on the home turn. Palm Tee eased in the home straight checking Waynewright.
Palm Tee was vetted and re-vetted following event 9. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. James, the handler of the greyhound Palm Tee regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Palm Tee with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. James pleaded guilty to the charge, Palm Tee was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
