Hello My Duck went up with the lids at box rise. Spotted Opal and Belron Bliss collided soon after the start. Spotted Opal checked off La Gran Holgada approaching the first turn. Belron Bliss checked off Spotted Opal approaching the first turn. Destructacon and Hello Mr Duck collided approaching the first turn, checking Destructacon. Oli Pop and Aston Quich collided approaching the first turn, checking Aston Quich. La Gran Holgada and Oli Pop collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn, checking Destructacon. Hello Mr Duck clipped the heels of Brandeen Kimba entering the home straight. La Gran Holgada and Oli Pop collided in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr G.Moss, the trainer of Johnny Boy regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Johnny Boy last raced on 23rd March, 2016. Mr Moss stated that the greyhound was new to the trainer and had been a change of kennels.

Mr R.Partington, trainer of Belron Jessie declared a new weight of 25.7kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Belron Jessie last raced at 24.6kg.

Flick The Jug, Blue Power and Reminator were slow to begin. Johnny Boy and Belron Jessie collided approaching the first turn, checking Belron Jessie. Temujin and Belron Jessie collided approaching the first turn, checking Belron Jessie. Reminator crossed to the outside approaching the home turn. Belron Jessie and Blue Power collided approaching the home turn, checking Belron Jessie. Reminator checked off Belron Jessie entering the home straight. Jack Snapper, Belron Jessie and Reminator raced wide in the home straight.

Magic Diamond was a late scratching at 8:05am due to injury (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Parrot Is Loose was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

A sample was taken from With Held - winner of the event. 

Label This was slow to begin. Corroboree and Make It Happen collided soon after the start, checking Corroboree. Courthouse Walk, Bohdi Sage and Label This collided approaching the first turn, checking Bohdi Sage. Label This and Motors Too Fast collided on the first turn. Courthouse Walk and Motors Too Fast collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight.

Amateur Night was slow to begin. Djay Billie was very slow to begin (8 lengths). Tail Gate crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Vegas Dealer and Cosmic Tilly. Vegas Dealer galloped on the heels of Dill Bale on the first turn, checking Dill Bale, Vegas Dealer, Cosmic Tilly and Santana. 

Stewards spoke to Mr B.Donovan the trainer of Djay Billie and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds tardiness to begin.

Blonde Whylie, Arejay Wobbles and Watch The One were slow to begin. Gamer Bale and Bernmar Thunder collided soon after the start. Blonde Whylie and Arejay Wobbles collided approaching the first turn, checking Arejay Wobbles. Blonde Whylie galloped on the heels of Watch The One on the first turn. Ready Sebi Go checked off Bernmar Thunder approaching the home turn and raced wide. Arejay Wobbles lost ground approaching the home turn and raced wide. 

Arejay Wobbles was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left shin injury, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

A sample was taken from Softie Sue - winner of the event. 

Citrus Kiss and Brandeen Peaches were slow to begin. Dealer's Call, Garnier Bale and King Farouk collided approaching the first turn, checking Garnier Bale. White With One and Rozehill Alby collided approaching the first turn, checking Brandeen Peaches and Rozehill Alby. Dealer's Call, King Farouk and White With One collided approaching the first turn. Onya Teddy raced wide approaching the home turn. King Farouk raced wide and eased approaching the home turn, checking Onya Teddy. Dealer's Call and White With One collided on the home turn, checking Brandeen Peaches. 

Stewards spoke to Mr L.Karabitsakos, the trainer of the greyhound King Farouk regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. King Farouk was vetted and after being re-vetted following event 11, it was reported that the greyhound sustained a left sesamoid injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.   Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged King Farouk with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Karabitsakos pleaded guilty to the charge, King Farouk was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

A sample was taken from Citrus Kiss - winner of the event. 

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Foxy Fern and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 11:35am due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Ms V.Watson was fined the sum of $100.

Mr B.Tharle trainer of Sweepin' Boots declared a new weight of 26.4kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Sweepin' Boots last raced at 25.0kg.

A sample was unable to be obtained from Peter's Pride upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling. A pre race sample was subsequently taken.

Spot Of Magic, Chichi Bale and Peter's Pride were slow to begin. Reek and Jarrad Keats collided soon after the start. It's Burger Time and Spot Of Magic collided approaching the home turn. Peter's Pride and Jarrad Keats collided approaching the winning post.

Darcon Magic, Birkenhead and Scarlet Evader were slow to begin. Remembering Dad crossed in soon after the start, checking Banchee Boy. Buckle Up Zing was quick to begin. Akina Dee Jay, Tiger Ty Vic adn Immo Com were slow to begin. Tiger Ty Vic and Highfield Bambo collided soon after the start. Immo Com and Delvin Flash collided soon after the start. Bluebells Rocker and Trisha Nolan collided approaching the first turn. Akina Dee Jay checked off Tiger Ty Vic approaching the first turn, checking Immo Com.

Meeting Comments:

Satisfactory Trial Results – Poker Brat trialled over the 400m from box 3, weight 27.8kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 23.15, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of a nose. Poker Brat was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Mr G.Sneyders, the trainer of Night Explosion regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Night Explosion last raced on 8th September, 2015. Mr Sneyders stated that the greyhound was returning to racing after a right achilles injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Night Explosion trialled over the 400m from box 8, weight 25.8kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 23.15, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 3.50 lengths. Night Explosion was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results – Don't Argue trialled over the 400m from box 1, weight 29.6kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 2315, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 0.5 lengths. Don't Argue was cleared.
