Paranorman was slow to begin. Duck Hole Flyer and Emi's Boy Badger collided soon after the start checking Duck Hole Flyer. Emi's Boy Badger and Ima Cosmic collided approaching the first turn checking Ima Cosmic. Sparkletini and Duck Hole Flyer collided on the first turn checking Duck Hole Flyer. Emi's Boy Badger and Sparkletini collided approaching the home turn checking Sparkletini and Duck Hole Flyer. Sparkletini and Sillybilly Bling collided in the home straight checking Sparkletini.

Satisfactory Trial Results
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Formosa, the trainer of Survino regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Survino last raced on 14th January, 2016. Mr. Formosa stated that the greyhound is returning to racing after a change of kennel. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Survino trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 31.5kgs. The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 4. The time of the trial was 23.25. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5 lengths. Survino was cleared.
