Stewards spoke to Ms. S. Shiells, the trainer of Snooky regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Snooky last raced on 25 February 2016. Ms. Shiells stated that Snooky is returning to racing from a back right toe injury.
Stewards spoke to J. Galea, the trainer of Sisco Rage regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Sisco Rage last raced on 21 April 2016. Mr. Galea stated that Sisco Rage is returning to racing from a right back muscle injury.
Solo and Sisco Rage were slow to begin. Eren Bale and Brakani collided soon after the start. Brakani, Snooky and Mississippi Girl collided approaching the first turn, checking Snooky and Mississippi Girl. Solo and Snooky collided approaching the first turn.
