Steward's Report
A pre race sample was taken from Proven Pops.
Brahma's Pride was quick to begin. Proven Pops and Run Sajid Run were slow to begin. Woolly Warbo and Irish Moment collided soon after the start severely checking Woolly Warbo which was tailed off as a result. Zipping Ringo, Irish Moment and Heartbreak Love collided approaching the first turn checking Irish Moment and Heartbreak Love. Zipping Ringo, Irish Moment and Heartbreak Love collided on the first turn checking Irish Moment. Zipping Ringo checked off Irish Moment on the home turn. Run Sajid Run and Zipping Ringo collided entering the home straight.
Following the event Proven Pops collapsed in the catching pen. As a result the greyhound was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound experienced exercise induced ataxia (PEDS) and a siezure. A stand down period of three days was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Williams, the handler of Proven Pops and advised him that acting in accordance with GAR 74, Stewards directed that Proven Pops must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Woolly Warbo was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left shoulder injury. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.
