Stewards spoke to Mr G Robinson, the handler of El Toro Loco regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. El Toro Loco last raced on 15th March, 2016 and is returning to racing after a change of kennel.  

Stewards spoke to Ms B.King, the trainer of Winter Blues regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Winter Blues last raced on 10th April, 2016 and is returning to racing after a hamstring injury.  

A pre race sample was taken from Daintree Teacake.

Paul Stealer and Lady Tron collided soon after the start. Trov's Gem and Zelemar Zone collided soon after the start. Paul Stealer and Zelemar Zone collided on the first turn, checking Paul Stealer, Zelemar Zone and Lektra Diva. El Toro Loco checked off Winter Blues on the first turn, checking Trov's Gem and Daintree Teacake. Trov's Gem and Daintree Teacake collided approaching the home turn. El Toro Loco checked off Trov's Gem approaching the home turn. El Toro Loco checked off Zelemar Zone on the home turn, checking Lektra Diva. Paul Stealer and Trov's Gem collided entering the home straight. Lady Tron and Winter Blues collided in the home straight. 

Stewards spoke to Mr R.Matthews regarding his difficulty in boxing the greyhound Daintree Teacake. Stewards directed that Daintree Teacake be boxed first in future events.

Meeting Comments:

Stewards concluded the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incorrect greyhound 'Swift Bunny' being presented at the Shepparton Greyhound Racing Club meeting conducted 16th June, 2016. After hearing evidence from licensed trainers Ms. D O'Mara and Mr. N Burns stewards charged Ms. O'Mara with a breach of GAR31(1). Ms. O'Mara pleaded guilty to the charge. Ms O'Mara was found guilty and fined the sum of $200. 

Stewards concluded the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the late scratching of 'Hensap Justine' from the Ballarat Greyhound Racing Club meeting conducted 2nd May, 2016. After taking evidence from Mr. Formosa stewards charged him with a breach of GAR105(5)(b) in that he failed to inspect the greyhound and by reference to the certificate of registration of the greyhound identification card to satisfy the trainer that the greyhound is the greyhound referred to in the certificate or card and that the certificate or card contains and accurate description of the greyhound. 

Satisfactory Trial Results - All Inn Africa trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 33.9kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.15, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5.50 lengths. All Inn Africa was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Proper Bluey trialled over the 390m from box 3, weight 34.0kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.15, the greyhound won by a margin of 5.25 lengths. Proper Bluey was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms B.Kinder, the trainer of Hilltop Senorita regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Hilltop Senorita last raced on 25 November, 2015. Ms Kinder stated that the greyhound had sustained a hip injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Hilltop Senorita trialled over the 390m from box 7, weight 28.1kg, the greyhound was placed 4th in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.15, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9.0 lengths. Hilltop Senorita was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Sisco Wander trialled over the 390m from box 8, weight 33.4kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.15, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5.25 lengths. Sisco Wander was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Bab's On Parole trialled over the 390m from box 1, weight 27.5kg, the greyhound was placed 1st in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.60, the greyhound won by a margin of 0.5 lengths. Bab's On Parole was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results (GAR 77A) - Stewards spoke to Ms A.Powell, the trainer of Total Blonde regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced. Total Blonde last raced on 25 October, 2015. Ms Powell stated that the greyhound had sustained a back muscle injury. Pursuant to GAR 77A, Total Blonde trialled over the 390m from box 3, weight 26.1kg, the greyhound was placed 3rd in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.60, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.0 lengths. Total Blonde was cleared.

Satisfactory Trial Results - Lacey Lois trialled over the 390m from box 5, weight 26.7kg, the greyhound was placed 2nd in a field of four starters. The time of the trial was 22.60, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 0.5 lengths. Lacey Lois was cleared.
