Stewards spoke to Mr B.Milne, the trainer of Marmasette regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Marmasette last raced on 8 April, 2016. Mr Milne stated that Marmasette was returning to racing from a spell. Mr Milne declared a new weight of 27.5kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Marmasette last raced at 28.9kg.

Stewards spoke to the Starter, Mr. S. Stefanos regarding his failure to activate the green light after the greyhounds were boxed. Mr. Stefanos stated that he was under the impression that he had activated the switch from amber to green. Stewards advised Mr. Stefanos to be aware in future when undertaking the starting process.

Lizzy Allen was quick to begin.  All Inn Tops, Dark Vader, Hardaway Terror and Tommy Longstride were slow to begin.  Dark Vader checked off Ultimate Paddy soon after the start and again on the first turn.  Hardaway Terror and Raven On collided on the first turn, severely checking Raven On and Tommy Longstride.  Dark Vader contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground as a result.  Dark Vader checked off Frame History on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. F. Zeinert, the handler of Diamond Fix regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Diamond Fix last raced on 15 March, 2015. Mr. Zeinert stated that Diamond Fix is returning to racing from a toe injury.

Scoop Jackson was slow to begin.  Venom Torque checked off My Name's Emma soon after the start checking Scoop Jackson, Diamond Fix and Burst Through.  Vanderville and My Name's Emma collided approaching the home turn checking My Name's Emma.  Diamond Fix and Burst Through raced wide on the home turn and again in the home straight.

Busted Flat was a late scratching at 6:46pm due to non arrival (GAR 31). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr B.Smith was fined the sum of $100.

Ms S.Fisher, the handler of Vellobell declared a new weight of 36.2kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Vellobell last raced at 35.1kg.

Stewards spoke to Mr J.Borg, the handler of Max Rocket regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Max Rocket last raced on 16 March, 2016. Mr Borg stated that the greyhound was returning to racing from a spell. Mr Borg declared a new weight of 32.0kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Max Rocket last raced at 30.5kg.
