Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Fleming, the trainer of the greyhound Shayley's Comet regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn. Shayley's Comet was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right monkey muscle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Shayley's Comet with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Fleming did not wish to enter a plea on behalf of the greyhound.  Shayley's Comet was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR (B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

No photo finish image was captured for this event due to internet and fastrack issues. Stewards used the video footage to determine the placegetters and margins.

Lemon Chicken and Nordul's Hope collided on the first turn checking Nordul's Hope.  Mum Said No galloped on the heels of Nordul's Hope on the first turn causing Nordul's Hope to stumble.  Our Nico and Nordul's Hope collided several times on the home turn checking Our Nico.

Mr. C. Morris-Flynn was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound Frankie Tana, pursuant to GAR 33.

Morris-Flynn, the trainer of the greyhound Frankie Tana regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Frankie Tana with marring.  Mr. Morris-Flynn pleaded guilty to the charge.  Frankie Tana was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Sultan Of Swing and Varix were slow to begin.  Don's Licker and Paramount Arrow collided approaching the first turn checking Don's Licker, Paramount Arrow, Coopnarcha, Sultan Of Swing and Varix.  Varix checked off Don's Licker approaching the home turn.

Mr S.Mckenzie, trainer of Hit The Beat  declared a new weight of 31.0kgs  for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Hit The Beat last raced at 29.3kgs.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Corgi Cry trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 1, weight 26.9kgs.  The greyhound was placed 4th, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.86. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 5 lengths.  Corgi Cry was cleared

Stewards spoke to Ms. D. Carr, the trainer of Miss Moto regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Miss Moto last raced on 11th January 2016.  Ms. Carr stated that the greyhound was returning to race after a change of kennel.  Pursuant to GAR 77A, Miss Moto trialled over the 390 metre distance from box 3, weight 31.1kgs (new declared weight).  The greyhound was placed 2nd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 22.86.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 2 lengths.  Miss Moto was cleared

Tronnie Oldfield trialled over the 450 metre distance from box 1, weight 30.8kgs.  The greyhound was placed 2nd, in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 25.76.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 1.5 lengths.  Tronnie Oldfield was cleared.
