A pre-race sample was taken from Pyramid Flyer.
Grey Mater, Swift Lacey, Pyramid Flyer and Iceni Outlaw were slow to begin. Swift Lacey and Pyramid Flyer collided soon after the start, checking Pyramid Flyer. Good Memories checked off Glamorous Cheech approaching the first turn. Iceni Outlaw raced wide approaching the first turn. Grey Mater and Good Memories collided on the first turn. Glamorous Cheech galloped on the heels of Carrara Lad on the first turn, checking both greyhounds. Good Memories checked off Grey Mater approaching the home turn. Carrara Lad and Good Memories collided on the home turn. Iceni Outlaw, Pyramid Flyer and Glamorous Cheech raced wide entering the home straight. Pyramid Flyer and Glamorous Cheech collided in the home straight.
Swift Lacey which faltered in the catching pen was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right hindleg hock fracture, and was humanely euthanised.
