Steward's Report
Chubba Chops was quick to begin.
Mepunga Nick and Southwood Lloyd collided soon after the start. Velvet Hammer checked off Tigress Eight approaching the first turn and collided with Mepunga Nick. Ace Bale and Southwood Lloyd collided on the first turn severely checking Ace Bale which contacted the rail. Lynlea Jake and Southwood Lloyd collided approaching the home turn. Velvet Hammer and Glitterbug collided enteirng the home straight severely checking both greyhounds. Glitterbug checked off Tigress Eight approaching the winning post.
Velvet Hammer was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.
Glitterbug was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.
Ace Bale which performed poorly over the concluing stages of the event was vetted. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured tail. A 30 day stand down period was imposed.
A pre race sample was unable to be obtained from Ace Bale. A subsequent post race sample was aborted due to the nature of the injuries sustained and the welfare of the greyhound.
