Steward's Report
Electro Bale and Iona Angel were quick to begin. Ressler was slow to begin. Penelopes Cruzn went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin (3 lengths). Bold Caper checked off Harlem Shake soon after the start. Bold Caper checked off Ressler approaching the first turn and raced wide as a result. Harlem Shake and Iona Angel collided approaching the first turn checking Iona Angel. Perkins Bale and Iona Angel collided on the first turn checking Iona Angel. Iona Angel eased on the first turn and subsequently pulled up. Harlem Shake and Tronathon collided on the home turn checking Harlem Shake.
Penelopes Cruzn was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its left calf. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. K. Lloyd, the respresentative of the greyhound Iona Angel regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn. Iona Angel was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its left wrist and left hind toe. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1). the stewards charged Iona Angel with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Lloyd pleaded guilty to the charge. Iona Angel was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
