Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Opec Bale.
Nicki Fields, Tears Siam and Beks were slow to begin. Opec Bale and Tears Siam collided soon after the start. Maddie Gari checked off Berry Blitz on the first turn. Maddie Gari faltered on the second turn and tailed off. Opec Bale checked off Berry Blitz approaching the home turn.
Tears Siam was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left thigh, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Maddie Gari was vetted following the event and was revetted following Race 7. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right shoulder, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr D. Chapman, Trainer of Maddie Gari. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), Stewards charged Maddie Gari with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Chapman pleaded guilty to the charge. Maddie Gari was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial, All Tracks, pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
