Demon Jesse, Fab Flash and Supasonic Sam collided on the first turn checking Fab Flash and Supasonic Sam. Brandeen Kimba checked off Demon Jesse approaching the home turn. Nearly Lilly, Ipswich Bale and Fab Flash raced wide in the home straight. Nearly Lilly and Ipswich Bale collided several times in the home straight. Supasonic Sam and Ipswich Bale collided approaching the winning post.

Ipswich Bale was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left biceps and a minor spike wound to the left foreleg. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr J Collins, handler of Ipswich Bale regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Even Keel, upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

Stewards spoke to Mr.J.Thompson, the trainer of Even Keel regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Even Keel last raced on 4 March 2016.  Mr.Thompson stated that the greyhound was resuming racing after an injury to the inside left hind toe. Mr Thompson also stated that the greyhound had had its tonsils removed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Haptic Bale.

Fabregas Lara and Tim Riggins were slow to begin and collided soon after the start. Fabregas Lara and Even Keel collided soon after the start. Mahaya and Rusty Cove collided approaching the first turn. Tim Riggins checked off Violet Allen on the first turn. Fabregas raced wide entering the home straight. Mahaya checked off Violet Allen on the home turn and collided with Tim Riggins causing Tim Riggins and Mahaya to race wide as result.  Violet Allen and Even Keel collided approaching the winning post.

A pre-race sample was taken from Connemara Xav.

Kokos raced wide in the back straight. Destini Dolphin and Ma Ma Keogh collided on the second turn. Connemara Xav checked off Aston Amon in the home straight. Kokos raced wide in the home straight.

Mr J Collins trainer of Bar King Buddy declared a new weight of 32.8kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Bar King Buddy last raced at 34.0kg.

A pre-race sample was taken from Dyna Xanadu.

Destini Wahoo was slow to begin.

Destini Wahoo and Rick Grimes collided soon after the start. Bar King Buddy and Fiery Felix collided soon after the start. Dyna Xanadu, Claretown Ace and Bar King Buddy collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn. Dyna Xanadu and Claretown Ace collided on the first turn severely checking Claretown Ace which fell as a result. Dyna Edgar and Fiery Felix collided in the home straight.

Claretown Ace was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury.

A pre-race sample was taken from What Planet.

Lektra Hutch was quick to begin.

Cerberus and What Planet collided soon after the start. Suzy Nitro and What Planet collided approaching the first turn checking Suzy Nitro. Scared Of Sharks and Jadu collided on the first turn. Suzy Nitro checked off Scared Of Sharks on the home turn. Suzy Nitro and Blue Boy collided several times in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from West On Xandi.

Draper Bale, Midnight Outlaw and Next Grange were slow to begin.

Next Grange crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Draper Bale, Midnight Outlaw, Roo Dee and Infinite Senor. Draper Bale, Roo Dee and Infinite Senor collided approaching the first turn checking Infinite Senor and Roo Dee. Midnight Outlaw checked off Next Grange on the first turn. Infinite Senor checked off Draper Bale on the first turn. Moto Warrior checked of Paua To Rush approaching the home turn. Moto Warrior raced wide in the home straight.

A sample was taken from Paua To Rush - placed second in the event.

Stewards spoke to Mr.B.Baxter,  the handler of Sonic Dash regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Sonic Dash last raced on 11 February 2016. Mr.Baxter stated that  the greyjhound was resuming racing after suffering a tear to the left back muscle.

Sisco Wake was slow to begin.

Sonic Dash and Penelopes Cruzn collided approaching the first turn. Duff Bale and Diamond Ed collided on the first turn causing Diamond Ed and Sisco Wake to collide, Diamond Ed lost ground as a result.

A sample was taken from Enjoy Cruising - placed second in the event.

A pre-race sample was taken from Runaway Shaye.

Cash In Looper, Mahogany Saphire and Six Green Thumbs collided soon after the start. He's No Jet and Six Green Thumbs collided on the first turn. Runaway Shaye and Ponting's Nail collided entering the back straight. He's No Jet and Six Green Thumbs collided on the second turn checking He's No Jet. Cash In Looper and Runaway Shaye collided approaching the home turn. He's No Jet checked off Cash In Looper in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was Paua To Kapau.

Dunbro Fergus, Milly's Way and Eppy Bale collided soon after the start checking Dunbro Fergus and Milly's Way. Paua To Kapau, Dunbro Fergus and Eppy Bale collided on the first turn severely checking Dunbro Fergus which contacted the rail, stumbled and lost ground as a result. Space Emm checked off Another Blue approaching the home turn. Paua To Kapau and Eppy Bale collided approaching the home turn. Eppy Bale and Paua Kapau collided on the home turn checking Eppy Bale. Space Emm and Paua to Kapau collided in the home straight.

Dunbro Fergus was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions and bruising to the left hind leg. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Pre-race samples were taken from Djays Larry and Evening Major.

Black Cobia crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Lord Kitchener, Caco Potion and Destini Soprano. Evening Major and Ella's Cruising collided approaching the first turn. Destini Soprano and Lord Kitchener collided on the first turn. Caco Potion checked off Evening Major on the home turn checking Djays Larry. Caco Potion and Djays Larry collided several times in the home straight.

A pre-race sample was taken from Sisco Gillie.

Pyschotic Bob checked off Hunter Rocks on the first turn. Daryl Dixon and Hunter Rocks collided approaching the home turn checking Hunter Rocks. Hunter Rocks raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mr.M.Collyer  the trainer of Oscar  regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Oscar last raced on 14 March 2016. Mr.Collyer  stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a spell.

Mr S Kruckel was fined the sum of $50 for failing to ensure the registration papers/registration card were produced for the greyhound Pep Cee Kola pursuant to GAR 33.
