Our First Lady and Paua Hiking collided approaching the first turn. Our First Lady, Paua Hiking, Jake and Pink Rocket collided on the first turn checking Pink Rocket. Hurricane Aussie and Zall Over collided approaching the second turn checking both greyhounds. Jake, Hurricane Aussie and Pink Rocket collided in the back straight. Our First Lady and My Lady Limonite collided in the home straight.

Saturday Sip was quick to begin.  Lakeview Miss and Toshulan collided soon after the start.  Toshulan and Magic Rama collided approaching the first turn.  Lakeview Miss and Heston Lodge collided on the first turn.  Heston Lodge and Magic Rama collided on the first turn.  Saturday Sip eased and crossed to the outside on the first turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Galea the trainer of the greyhound Saturday Sip regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.  Saturday Sip was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained minor spike wounds to both hind legs, no stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1) Stewards charged Saturday Sip with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment by reason of injury.  Mr. Galea pleaded guilty to the charge, Saturday Sip was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a satisfactory trial all tracks pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Customized was slow to begin.  Dr. Yanma, Busta Voe and Nero Rose collided on the first turn checking Busta Voe.  Dr. Yanmar, Nero Rose, Blue Surfonic and Bigbad Fiji collided entering the back straight checking Nero Rose.  Nero Rose galloped on Blue Surfonic in the back straight causing Blue Surfonic to fall.  Dr. Yanmar was checked off Jules' Fancy approaching the home turn.  Nero Rose and Californa Levo collided on the home turn.

Blue Surfonic was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a fractured radius and ulna, a 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Prince Nando and All About Arby were slow to begin.  Dr. Valhalla was very slow to begin (3 lengths).  Mortal Sin, Locomotion and All About Arby collided entering the back straight checking Locomotion and All About Arby.  Mortal Sin, Nifty Neveelk and Dr. Valhalla collided in the back straight.  Mortal Sin and Won Wron Flyer collided approaching the winning post.

Locomotion was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a laceration to the nail bed on the left hind foot, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Dr. Sherlock was quick to begin.  Lethal Spider, Cowrie, Swan's Waddle and Walmac were slow to begin.  He's Panicken, Walmac and Swan's Waddle collided soon after the start checking Walmac.  Cowrie was checked off He's Panicken on the first turn.  Lethal Spider and He's Panicken collided approaching the home turn.  He's Panicken and Joni Sunset collided on the home turn.

Meeting comments:-

Stewards were advised that the track was lightly harrowed on Thursday the 23rd of June 2016.

Satisfactory trial (GAR 77A):- Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Cunneen the trainer of Soda Lad regarding the length of time since the greyhound last raced.  Soda Lad last raced on 13/12/16.  Mr. Cunneen stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following a right hock injury.  Pursuant to GAR 77A Soda Lad trialled over 315 metres from box 1, weight 32.2kg, the greyhound was placed first in a field of 4.  The time of the trial was 18.17 sec, the greyhound won by a margin of 6.25 lengths.  Soda Lad was cleared.
