Niki's Lad and Wadelock Cappa collided approaching the home turn checking Niki's Lad.  Dr. Double Malt and Mr. Chance collided on the home turn.  Spy Miss and Niki's Lad collided approaching the winning post.

A pre-race sample was taken from Night Prancer.

Ringadingding and Vanished were slow to begin.  Ken's Thunderin' and Crimson Peak collided approaching the first turn checking Ken's Thunderin'.  Ken's Thunderin' clipped the heels of Three Scoops approaching the first turn checking Ken's Thunderin' and Vanished.  Gats Prodigy galloped on the heels of Crimson Peak on the first turn severely checking Gats Prodigy, Crimson Peak and Night Prancer.  Ken's Thunderin' and Vanished collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Vanished checked off Ken's Thunderin' approaching the home turn.  Gats Prodigy and Night Prancer collided on the home turn and both greyhounds raced wide in the home straight.

Early Violet was vetted prior to the event and passed fit to race.

A pre-race sample was taken from Furiosa.

Lunar Chief was quick to begin.  Meggs Rawson, Early Violet and Ashtastic collided approaching the first turn checking Early Violet.  Paua To Admit and Furiosa collided approaching the first turn.  Meggs Rawson and Paua To Admit collided approaching the home turn.  Ashtastic raced wide entering the home straight checking Paua To Admit.

A sample was taken from Major Nippa, the winner of the event.

Mr. P. Borradale, trainer of Photo Bomber declared a new weight of 31.1kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Photo Bomber last raced at 32.3kgs.

A pre-race sample was taken from Cosmic Conqueror.

Blackjack's Back and Cosmic Conqueror were slow to begin.  Dr. Dynomite crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Axel Boy and Photo Bomber.  Cosmic Conqueror galloped on the heels of Ava's Shadow approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds and causing Blackjack's Back to fall; Blackjack's Back severely checked Kayla Las and checked Axel Boy and Photo Bomber as a result.  Ava's Shadow and Brindle Audrey collided approaching the home turn.

Blackjack's Back was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained abrasions to its right elbow and left hind leg.  A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Brindle Audrey was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to its right deltoid muscle.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Dr. Dynomite, the winner of the event.

A pre-race sample was taken from Goodnight Skye upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

A pre-race sample was taken from Mugs Away upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

A pre-race sample was taken from This Is Spartan upon arrival at the course, prior to kennelling.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Mugs Away and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 11:10am due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Ms. N. Tapp was fined the sum of $100.

Daintree Rhumba and Goodnight Skye were quick to begin.  Countess Juanita and Fast Boloney collided soon after the start.  It's Debatable and Fast Boloney colided approaching the first turn.

A pre-race sample was taken from Merlot Magic.

Dromore's Opal, Miss Mathieson and Merlot Magic were slow to begin.  Shifty Joshua, Beljay Belle and Inter Sandra collided approaching the first turn checking Beljay Belle and Inter Sandra.  Inter Sandra and Miss Mathieson collided approaching the first turn checking Dark Avenger.  Shifty Joshua checked off Catalan Flyer approaching the first turn.  Dromore's Pearl and Dark Avenger collided approaching the home turn.  Miss Mathieson and Dark Avenger collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight.  Shifty Joshua checked off Merlot Magic entering the home straight.

Miss Mathieson was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Fearnley, the trainer of the greyhound Miss Mathieson regarding the greyhound's performance in this event.  Mr. Fearnley stated that he believes the greyhound requires a clear run to  be able to perform to her best potential.  Stewards noted Mr. Fearnley's comments and directed that a sample be taken from the greyhound.

Iona Machine was quick to begin.  Why Not Jojo and Jay Kay Be were slow to begin.  Surf Jester, Why Not Jojo, Logic Lad and Oxygen Bandit collided soon after the start checking Surf Jester and Why Not Jojo.  Surf Jester and Oxygen Bandit collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn.  Logic Lad and Jay Kay Be collided entering the home straight.

Our Miss Nitro and Me The Chief were quick to begin.  Henry Garth was slow to begin.  Me The Chief crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Cost Cutter.  Henry Garth and Cost Cutter collided approaching the first turn.  Swan's Waddle checked off Our Miss Nitro on the first turn.  Henry Garth and Cost Cutter collided on the first turn.  Swan's Waddle, Black Selandra and Dromore's Pearl collided approaching the home turn checking Black Selandra.  Beyond Manapa raced wide approaching the home turn checking Cost Cutter.  Swan's Waddle and Dromore's Pearl collided on the home turn.  Our Miss Nitro and Me The Chief collided on the home turn and again entering the home straight checking Me The Chief.

Blazin Beau was a late scratching at 10:55am on the advice of the Club's Veterinary Surgeon due to an injury to its left hind foot.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Bronelly Duke and Strummer Express were slow to begin.  Strummer Express and Dr. Luvdisc collided soon after the start.  Smurftastic and Strummer Express collided approaching the first turn.  Ima Reality checked off Moe Magic approaching the first turn checking Moe Magic.  Smurftastic and Strummer Express collided on the first turn.  Moe Magic and Bronelly Duke collided approaching the home turn checking Moe Magic.  Moe Magic and Ima Reality collided approaching the home turn.  Strummer Express raced wide in the home straight.

Ninetymile Ace was slow to begin.  Fear Fire and Da Mishka collided soon after the start.  Parkfield Shower and Brodie's Mullet collided soon after the start.  Brodie's Mullet and Max Roxy collided approaching the first turn.  Lunar Shadow, Fear Fire and Ninetymile Ace collided approaching the first turn checking Lunar Shadow and Ninetymile Ace.  Parkfield Shower and Max Roxy collided approaching the first turn.  Brodie's Mullet faltered on the first turn and tailed off as a result.  Lunar Shadow and Max Roxy collided approaching the home turn.

Brodie's Mullet was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to its right calf muscle and left triangle.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Mrs. M. Lithgow, representative of Rusty's Cape declared a new weight of 31.2kgs for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2).  Rusty's Cape last raced at 32.6kgs.

Snow Gypsy was quick to begin.  Emi's Boy Badger and Cool Milo collided on the first turn checking Cool Milo.  Emi's Boy Badger and Elswyk Max collided approaching the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Mr. A. Wood, the trainer of Cosmic Madness regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Cosmic Madness last raced on 17 March 2016 and is returning to race after a right stopper injury.

Stewards spoke to Ms. J. Brooks, the trainer of Kallara Gem regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races.  Kallara Gem last raced on 1st March 2016 and is returning to race after being new to the kennel and a new owner.

A pre-race sample was taken from Rusty Mia.

Cosmic Madness and Sweet Amber were slow to begin.  Rusty Mia crossed to the rail soon after the start.  Buckle Up Jem and Cash Ownley collided on the first turn checking Buckle Up Jem and Kallara Gem.  Nachos Gracias checked off Cash Ownley on the first turn. 

Stewards spoke to Mr. M. Busuttil, the Trainer/Handler of the greyhound Nachos Gracias and reminded him of his responsibilities after he failed to retrieve his greyhound from the kennels by the appointed time.

Satisfactory Trial Results

Invictus Skybird trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 1, weight 30.1kgs.  The greyhound was placed 3rd, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 23.15.  The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 9 lengths.  Invictus Skybird was cleared.

Bliss Street trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 7, weight 32.6kgs.  The greyhound was placed 4th, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 23.15. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 10.5 lengths.  Stewards noted that Bliss Street marred Vienna Pink on the first turn and was subsequenetly not cleared.

Vienna Pink trialled over the 400 metre distance from box 8, weight 24.1kgs.  The greyhound was placed 5th, in a field of 5.  The time of the trial was 23.15. The greyhound was beaten by a margin of 20.5 lengths. Stewards noted Vienna Pink was severely inconvenienced on the first turn, causing the greyhound to lose several lengths. Vienna Pink was cleared for it's box manners.
