Steward's Report
Our Kippy was slow to begin. Bekele crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Fancy Bounce, Violet Blue and Manx Czar. Manx Czar, Daintree Alice, Fancy Bounce and Violet Blue collided entering the back straight checking Manx Czar, Daintree Alice and Fancy Bounce. Daintree Alice checked off Manx Czar in the back straight. Manx Czar and Fancy Bounce collided on the second turn. Daintree Alice and Our Kippy collided approaching the home turn. Violet Blue and Bekele collided on the home turn and entering the home straight. Our Kippy and Atta Flash collided on the home turn. Manx Czar raced wide in the home straight. Violet Blue eased in the home straight and collided with Bekele. Bekele and Atta Flash collided approaching the winning post.
Stewards spoke to Mr. C. Newman, the trainer of the greyhound Violet Blue regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Violet Blue was vetted and re-vetted following race 5. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right groin, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Violet Blue with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Newman pleaded guilty to the charge, Violet Blue was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
