Stewards fined Trainer, Mrs. B Ennis, the sum of $50.00 pursuant to GAR33 for failing to produce the registration card of Gaucho.
Paua To Escape was quick to begin. Gaucho and Angie Rocks were slow to begin. Fleetwood Jay and What''s Chewing collided soon after the start. Midnight Ride and Nikita Kahn collided approaching the first turn. Gaucho and Fleetwood Jay collided on the first turn severely checking Fleetwood Jay, Nikita Kahn and Angie Rocks; Fleetwood Jay faltered and tailed off as a result. Nikita Kahn tailed off approaching the third turn. Gaucho galloped on the heels of Paua To Escape on the third turn checking Paua To Escape, Come On Fantasy and Midnight Ride.
Fleetwood Jay was vetted following the Event and Dr. G. Goble, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound sustained a suspected fracture to the right wrist. Fleetwood Jay will stand down from racing for 28 days.
Nikita Kahn was also vetted following the Event and Dr. G. Goble, the Club's Veterinary Surgeon, reported that the greyhound sustained pain to the right wrist and flexor tendon. Nikita Kahn will stand down from racing for 7 days.
Samples were taken from the placegetters - Gaucho (1st) and What's Chewing (2nd).
