Steward's Report
Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) Stewards were notified by Racing Analytical Services Limited on 23rd February that an Out Of Competition urine sample taken from the greyhound Why Not Lucy on 8th January, 2015 was shown to contain the permanently banned substance Morphine and Codeine.
Acting in accordance with Greyhounds Australasia Rule(GAR) 79A(3)(a) the greyhound was withdrawn from today's event and pursuant to GAR 79A(3)(b), the greyhound shall be ineligible to be nominated for any further event until such time a sample taken from the greyhound does not breach GAR 79A.
As per normal procedure the greyhound's Trainer, Mr. W. Gray was advised of these findings at a kennel inspection at his property on Friday 27th February, 2015. The reserve and control samples are yet to be analysed and Mr. Gray was advised of his right to have this performed in the presence of an independent approved analyst nominated by him at Racing Analytical Services Limited.
Carlanna Lois and Chantilly Magic were slow to begin. Lachlan Fantasy and Slipaway Jenifer collided soon after the start, severely checking Lachlan Fantasy. Carlanna Lois, Slipaway Jenifer and Molly Brown collided approaching the home turn, severely checking Slipaway Jenifer. Carlanna Lois checked off Praha on the home turn. Praha and Carlanna Lois collided entering the home straight.
